"We McSheas are desceded from Mick McShea who emigrarted from Dungloe in County Donegal in about 1872 with his wife and six children.


"Their last child, my paternal Grandfather, was born in the next couple of months. This gave them a total of seven children. They worked in the coal mines of Pennsylvania in the USA.


"My grandfather and his wife also had seven children, including my father Henry McShea, who was the youngest. The other six (by age) were John, Roger, Catherine, Florence, Edmund and Joseph. Joseph McShea became a Roman Catholic Bishop in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania before creating a new Diocese in Allentown, Pennsylvania.


"My father also had seven children. (Joe, me, Patricia, Eileen, Jeanne, Mary and Harry). I am the oldest surviving child."

To Bring Together Four Generations of an Irish-American Family.

This Web site is a family site to bring together four generations of an extended branch of the Irish-American McShea family.


It includes the decendents of Henry James "Harry" McShea Sr (born 1.23.1909) and Elizabeth Gertrude "Betty" McShea (born 10.13.1911). The Web site was launched in 2002.
